I know the perfect way to end this week – a Giveaway!

Today, I’m giving away a pair of tickets to opening night of Charlotte Squawks: 8 Misbehavin’ (Friday, June 8, in Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center).

The show is Broadway meets Saturday Night Live meets Charlotte.

Returning for their eighth edition, the creative team of Mike Collins and Brian Kahn collaborate with the area’s most talented singers, dancers, actors and egomaniacs to parody pop-culture, politics, sports and our beloved Queen City. From Cam Newton to the Democratic National Convention, nothing will be sacred!

Using songs that range in style from Broadway to hip-hop to to rock-n-roll, this year’s edition sets its sight on targets that include Ballantyne secessionists, Occupy Charlotte, social media and the historically bad Bobcats. And this being an election year, I’ll bet you $10,000 that the Romneys, the Obamas, Newt Gingrich, Congress, Pat McCrory and Jennifer Roberts get a few numbers. Heck, even folks who are not running will be “squawked” (lookin’ at you, Bev Perdue and Harold Cogdell).

It’ll be a ,a night of satire, sarcasm, and scathing scatological song.
