Get to Know the Blumenthal Staff!

July 8, 2011

Each week we’ll feature a Q&A with part of the Blumenthal team so you can get to know those who are behind-the-scenes.  This week, we’re speaking with Tommy Cantrell from the Programming Department.

Tommy Cantrell

Tommy Cantrell, Company Manager

What is your job title?  Company Manager

What does your job entail?  I advance all the shows that come into our theatres dealing with but not limited to hospitality, transportation, accommodations, dressing room needs, etc.  I mainly do everything back of house and advance some FOH (Front of House) needs.  It’s hard to put into words what my job entails because each show has their own unique and special needs.

How long have you worked for Blumenthal Performing Arts?  11 years in November.

What is your favorite musical?  It would have to be CATS.  This was the very first Broadway show I saw in NYC and I fell in love with it.

What is your favorite touring theatrical?  Why? I have so many; I really can’t name just one.  They are all special in their own way.  I guess meeting everyone that comes through the Blumenthal make their show special to me.

What is your favorite Blumenthal memory?  Again, there are many.  Working and seeing the great musicals and plays we present, working with artists that are legends, this list can go on and on.
