Tuesday Tune(s): “The Thrill is Gone” from B.B. King featuring Eric Clapton and “Cypress in the Pines” from Damon Fowler

January 10, 2012

B.B. KingOver the years, B.B. King has developed one of the world’s most identifiable guitar styles, and I think today’s Tuesday Tune really highlights this fact.  King’s guitar playing is as legendary as the man behind the instrument.  At 86 years young, King is still as popular, cherished and relevant as ever.  He remains dedicated to putting on the best show possible for his legions of fans.

Today’s tune,”The Thrill is Gone,” features Eric Clapton, whose acclaimed guitar playing was influenced by none other than B.B. King.  Lucky for Charlotteans, the thrill of B.B. King isn’t gone.  He’s performing TWO shows in the Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts this Thursday and Friday, Jan. 12-13.

Very few tickets remain, but the best availability is for the Thursday performance.  CLICK HERE for more information on B.B. King with Special Guest Damon Fowler.  To check on tickets, please call the box office, 704-372-1000.

In the meantime, enjoy “The Thrill is Gone” from B.B. King featuring Eric Clapton and Phil Collins.  And scroll down below for a second video featuring the music of Damon Fowler.

Also performing this Thursday and Friday is B.B. King‘s special guest, Damon Fowler.  Enjoy his music video for”Cypress in the Pines.”
