Meet the JERSEY BOYS – Coffee Orders, Past Roles and Some Fun Facts!

February 23, 2012

They portray one of the greatest pop music sensations, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, eight shows a week.  When not on stage, the four actors, otherwise known as the JERSEY BOYS, are hard at work promoting the show all around town.  Having spent yesterday with the charming gentlemen, I thought it was only fair to let my blog readers get to know the handsome foursome.  And, yes, this includes the always popular “What is their coffee of choice” question!!

  Joseph Leo Bwarie (Frankie Valli)

Coffee Choice:  None…say what?…Yup, Bwarie chose a large iced water!

Where do you know him from?  Joe (as his friends call him) was Charlotte’s “Frankie Valli” during the
first run of JERSEY BOYS back in 2010.  He’s very happy to return to the Queen City.

He’s been on the big screen!  He had a minor role in a little movie called Valentine’s Day, that starred every big name actor/actress in the business – Julia Roberts, Taylor  Swift, Bradley Cooper and many more…

Preston Truman Boyd (Bob Gaudio)

Coffee Choice:  Big and Black!

Where do you know him from?  You have recently seen him as “The Monster” in the first national tour of Young Frankenstein.  It’s nice to see him without that green makeup, right?!

Does he have any special talents?  Tap, Hip hop, Dialects, Keyboards, Vocal Percussion, Drums, Skiing & Ice Hockey!

  John Gardiner (Tommy DeVito)

Coffee Choice:  Grande Americano with cream and two Splenda!

Where do you know him from?  John played Timon in the national tour of The Lion King.

Fun Fact about John:  As a singer/songwriter, John’s CD “The Way We Weren’t” is available on iTunes.

Michael Lomenda (Nick Massi)

Coffee Choice:  Soy Green Tea Latte

The guy’s got some talent?  Michael has worked as a director, music director, arranger, and voice-over artist.  Phew…

Awards Buzz:  Michael received a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for his “Nick Massi” in Toronto.  The awards are presented annually by the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts which honors theatre, dance, and opera productions in Toronto.  Yes, Michael is Canadian!!

JERSEY BOYS is now playing through Sunday, March 11, in Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center!
