Tuesday Tune: “The Way It Is” by Bruce Hornsby

October 23, 2012

Today’s Tuesday Tune “The Way It Is” by Bruce Hornsby hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986.

Now, the three-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and pianist will bring a rare, intimate, solo performance to the McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 8 PM.

“The Way It Is” is the title track of Bruce Hornsby and the Range’s 1986 debut album, which became the most-played song on American radio in 1987, winning ASCAP’s Song of the Year award. That same year, Hornsby won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

“The Way It Is” and hits such as “Mandolin Rain” and “Every Little Kiss,” established Hornsby as one of the world’s most popular pop acts.  Always a versatile performer, Hornsby also earned Grammy Awards for Best Bluegrass Recording in 1990 and for Best Pop Instrumental 1993, and high-profile work with the likes of Don Henley and Huey Lewis made him an in-demand collaborator.

But for this special string of tour dates, Hornsby is collaborating with no one – just his trusty piano.  You won’t want to miss this intimate evening with one the greatest singer-songwriters of all time!  Bruce Hornsby visits McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 8 PMCLICK HERE for more information on Bruce Hornsby.
