Wayback Wednesday: 1980’s “Hit Me With Your Best Show” by Pat Benatar

December 12, 2012

Today, we’re traveling back 32 years to a time of leg warmers, the release of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, the debut of Pac-Man AND the release of “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar.

The song was released as the second single from her sophomore album Crimes of Passion, and reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first top 10 hit.

Pat Benatar has always been a rule-breaker and a trail-blazer.  She remains a bold and distinctive artist both on stage and on record, and now, after more than three decades in rock ‘n’ roll, she’s a bona fide living legend. Songs like “Love is a Battlefield,” “Heartbreaker,” “Promises In The Dark” and “We Belong” are as unforgettable now as they were at the dawn of MTV, when Pat emerged — fearless, fighting — and forged a path for female rock stars worldwide.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, Benatar joins Neil Giraldo for an unforgettable one-night-only concert in the intimate McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see a living legend up close in the McGlohon TheaterBenatar is performing with a full band.  These aren’t stripped down versions of the songs you know and love.  You’ll be hearing them just like you remember them from the radio or on MTV.  Opportunities like this are truly few and far between.
