“Broadway or Bust” is a three-part PBS series about the 60 winners of the National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) regional competitions who come to New York for the annual ceremony on Broadway.  The PBS series features Blumey Award winners Kyle Conroy (Best Actor) and Taylor Neal (Best Actress).

Special guest Kiesha Lalama, a choreographer for the NHSMTA program, talked with the students Sunday about what to expect as they prepare for the second annual Blumey Awards, which is schedule for May 19 at Belk Theater.

On Monday morning, Mike Collins, host of WFAE’s “Charlotte Talks,” interviewed Lalama about the Jimmy Awards (a nickname for NHSMTA) program, and talked with Ralph Beck and Michelle Youngs, co-directors of The Blumey Awards. Beck is the Blumenthal’s Director of Education, and Youngs is the Education Programs Manager.
