Looking Ahead: Vienna Teng Takes the Stage This Saturday

July 15, 2013

There are only a few days left to get your tickets to see Vienna Teng in McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square. The singer-songwriter-pianist takes the stage this Saturday, July 20, at 8:00 p.m.

For $15, you can experience what some call an inborn gift. Vienna Teng started playing the piano at the young age of five. Not long after, she began writing and by the time she reached 16, Teng had a full album’s worth of instrumentals.

This September, Teng will release her fifth studio album titled Aims. Three years after stepping away from a full-time music career to attend graduate school, Teng returned to the studio with a new sound, a new producer, and a new approach to songwriting and recording. From that process comes her most uptempo, pop-influenced album yet. Click here for a sneak peak!

The tour also marks Vienna’s creative reunion with songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Wong. “I’m excited to play with Alex again,” she said. “We’ve always had a great time feeding off and learning from each other. And we’ve each gone through intense experiences over the past few years that have really shaped us. I’m curious how that will come through in the music.”

Here are Teng and Wong playing together in New York City back in 2009:
