Wednesday Wow! John Oliver Headed to Charlotte

September 25, 2013

His is a face anyone would recognize if they watch Comedy Central. John Oliver took the reins hosting “The Daily Show” for Jon Stewart this summer, but he’s no stranger to the show. Oliver has been a writer and correspondent on “The Daily Show” since 2006.

Check out some of the best clips in the video below.

As a writer, Oliver has been nominated for Emmy and Writers Guild awards, and he won the Breakout Award at the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo. He performs stand-up comedy around the U.S., and his Comedy Central hour special “Terrifying Times” debuted in April 2008. Along with Andy Zaltzman, Oliver also writes and stars in a weekly podcast, “The Bugle: Audio Newspaper for a Visual World.”

Here’s a clip from one of Oliver’s stand-up shows last year.

Oliver is part of our PNC Celebrity Series, and he will be in Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts on Nov. 23. Tickets are $39.75. CLICK HERE to buy now, or visit BlumenthalArts.org for more information.
