Arturo Sandoval on ‘Charlotte Talks’ Tomorrow!

October 2, 2013

Coming to Charlotte tomorrow night is the man who some argue is one of the world’s most acknowledged players of the jazz trumpet and flugel horn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer. Arturo Sandoval plays McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square at 7:30 p.m., but you can catch him in the morning on WFAE’s “Charlotte Talks” with Mike Collins”!

Tune in to 90.7 FM to hear an exclusive interview with the nine-time Grammy Award winner. Sandoval has been nominated 17 times, and received six Billboard Awards and an Emmy Award. “Charlotte Talks With Mike Collins” is this region’s exclusive forum for the discussion of politics, growth, the arts, culture, social issues, literature, human interest, the environment and more. The show invites you to join the conversation during live broadcasts by calling 704-926-9323, or you can e-mail charlottetalks@wfae.org.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear what has inspired and driven this dynamic and vivacious performer through his career. Sandoval has been seen by millions at the Oscars performing with Celine Dion, at the Grammy Awards with Justin Timberlake and in his own right as a leader. He also performed at the Billboard Awards with Alicia Keys.

Sandoval wowed the audience in 2011 during “From the United States Air Force Band: America’s Veterans — A Musical Tribute.” In the clip below, Sandoval gives an electric performance of “A Night in Tunisia,” also featuring  the Air Force Band’s own SMSgt. Tim Leahy on trumpet.
