Jazz with Wynton Marsalis, Aimee Mann, Michael McDonald, Buddy Guy, Sandra Bernhard … the list seems to never end! This week, we are thrilled to welcome big talent to several of our stages.

It all starts Tuesday with Abyssinian: A Gospel Celebration featuring Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and Chorale Le Chateau conducted by Damien Sneed. If you are attending this special event, remember it is not in one of the typical Blumenthal venues. This show will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m. CLICK HERE for more information. Catch Marsalis on WFAE’s Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins the following morning, Oct 9, at 9 a.m.

The same night, Aimee Mann and special guest Ted Leo play McGlohon Theater, and it’s not too late to get tickets! CLICK HERE to purchase now!

If seeing a living legend is more up your alley, we’ve got just the ticket. Buddy Guy comes to the Queen City Thursday, Oct 10, at Knight Theater, and you can still nab tickets to the show. At age 76, Buddy Guy is undoubtedly a living legend. As one of the most exciting men in blues, he has earned six Grammy Awards, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, a ranking in the top 30 of Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” and, most recently, Kennedy Center Honors. His legendary showmanship on stage, fueled by the passion and excitement of his music, has been filling venues around the country for decades. CLICK HERE for tickets.

Also on the 10th, and over in McGlohon Theater, actress-singer-comedian Sandra Bernhard takes the stage. Bernhard makes a stop in Charlotte with her own one-of-a-kind live show, Sandyland, that sharply blends theater, rock ‘n’ roll and stand-up comedy with a little burlesque and cabaret. CLICK HERE to get tickets before it’s too late!
