Wednesday Wow! Behind the Scenes With the Cast of Evita

October 30, 2013

It’s still a few months away from opening in Charlotte, but the cast of Evita has hit the road for the national tour! After wowing audiences on Broadway, the Tony-nominated revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice rock opera Evita will come to Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center March 4-9 as part of our Duke Energy Broadway Lights Series. Check out the video below to get an inside look at rehearsals! Watch the stars of this acclaimed new production, led by Caroline Bowman as Eva Perón, and see why this high-energy revival is such a hit!

Don’t know much about the show? Here’s a recap: Eva used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as first lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. Evita tells Eva’s passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater’s most beautiful songs, including “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and “High Flying, Adored.”
