Looking Ahead: Two Side-splitting Comedy Shows You’ve Got to See

June 9, 2014
Stop by the Booth Playhouse June 6 - 29 to see the Charlotte Squawks perform.

Stop by the Booth Playhouse now through June 29 to see the Charlotte Squawks team perform.

We are looking  forward to two shows happening this week that are sure to tickle your funny bone: Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: The Two Man Group in Knight Theater and the continuation of Charlotte Squawks X: Ten Carolina Commandments in the Booth Playhouse

On Friday, June 13, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” stars Colin and Brad take the stage for one night only with their hilarious antics straight from the show!

The Springfield Sun News in Ohio declares that their touring show is “a two-hour laugh riot!” In the “Whose Line” TV show, these comedic top liners, along with a few other jokesters, create improvisational fun and satire by involving the members of the audience, and that’s exactly what they’re bringing to the stage! Through engaging with the audience, Colin and Brad create gut-busting, comical skits that can range from any sort of topic that pops into your mind. Go ahead and fill your Friday night with some witty humor and side-splitting comedy that will plaster a smile on your face the entire night.

On certain days through June 29, we have the pleasure of hearing the “squawking” stylings of the Queen City’s most talented performers in Charlotte Squawks X: Ten Carolina Commandments in the Booth Playhouse. The show is created by the dynamic duo of Mike Collins and Brian Kahn.

This group has truly made “squawking” an art form, taking the stage to make fun of today’s pop culture, sports, life and politics. Charlotte Squawks opened last Friday and the rollicking parodies of today’s lifestyles continue into the next three weeks. You can count on this show to be filled with hilarity and witty drama as the local performers take jabs at icons we all know and love … to hate. Don’t be shy, come find out who or what will be squawked. CLICK HERE for a list of all performance dates!

If you feel like you need a little spring in your step, or a grin to slap on your face for next week, then I highly recommend seeing either, or even both of these fabulous shows!
