A brand new production of The Sound of Music, directed by three-time Tony Award® winning director Jack O’Brien, is coming to Belk Theater Nov. 24-29. The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony, Grammy® and Academy Award®-winning best score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Edelweiss” and the title song.

The show is the official start to the 2015-2016 PNC Broadway Lights season. While this is a classic story known and loved by many, you might be surprised at how new and exciting this production is! “The new production of The Sound of Music is a fresh take on the story everyone loves. The stars are young with a passionate chemistry, making it feel like something you’ve never seen before, and yet the classic tale that it is — all at the same time,” said Blumenthal President Tom Gabbard.
