Wicked defies gravity for three and half weeks this January at Ovens Auditorium.

What a way to kick off the New Year! Wicked flies into Charlotte for the month of January beginning this Wednesday. It’s the fourth time this ultra “popular” Broadway hit has come to the Queen City. Fans love it as much for its thrilling music and spectacular special effects (hello – flying anyone?) as for its powerful messages about acceptance and viewing the world through another person’s eyes.

Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for “the most complete – and completely satisfying – musical in a long time” (USA Today).

Winner of over 100 international awards, including a Grammy® and three Tony Awards®, Wicked has delighted audiences around the globe since it first opened in 2003. “If every musical had the brain, heart and courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place,” writes Richard Zoglin, Time Magazine.

You can enjoy the magical experience of Wicked at Ovens Auditorium Jan. 6-31. For tickets, click here or call the box office at 704-372-1000.
