It features a live symphony orchestra playing the iconic melodies of “Star Trek” from its various incarnations as a hit TV show and celebrated film franchise while the most famous scenes are simultaneously beamed on a high definition 40-foot wide screen. Thurs, Jan. 29 Blumenthal Performing Arts invites you to a FREE Open Mic night at McGlohon Theater. Expect a wide range of performances — like spoken word, music and dance — from local artists. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kristin Chenoweth, the incomparable star of stage and screen, performs from her new album “Coming Home” Sunday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. in Belk Theater. An Emmy Award winner for her role on the ABC show “Pushing Daisies,” she’s also appeared on “Glee” and “The West Wing.” But she’s best known for her work on Broadway, including her Tony Award-winning turn in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and originating the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked.
